Today we are proud to present a lovely gold coin, a prooflike Liberty Double Eagle.
These beautiful gold coins were used heavily in commerce, so it’s always a joy to find them in certifiable mint state. This coin is exceptional because not only is it uncirculated, it is also prooflike. Though there are many pieces extant, exceedingly few 1904 Liberty Double Eagles (perhaps just a few hundred out of many tens of thousands) remain with prooflike surfaces.
This coin has beautiful color and flashy luster with nearly mirror-like fields. NGC certifies this coin Mint State 62 Prooflike, and CAC agrees.
