“1855” Kellogg Commemorative Restrike Gold Planchet, S.S. Central America, NGC Authentic

Palos Verdes Coin Exchange, the best coin and gold bullion shop in the South Bay, is proud to present an interesting piece of American History. When the first S.S. Central America shipwreck recovery concluded, some of the treasures owners decided to recreate 1855 Kellogg slugs with some of the gold dust recovered from the ship thousands of feet underwater. This is a 3 ounce gold planchet from that run that was never struck. It has been left blank and as a result is about the coolest 3 ounces (1304 grains) of gold you could own.

This interesting and rare piece has plenty of heft and is absolutely beautiful. Certified and labeled by NGC.
